Lakes student leaders Basim Al-Nafoosi, Bee Aranda, Aditi Arunachalam, Rob Bode, Aubrey Burgart, Aliyna Cox, Jack Marino, Adey Martin, Olivia Miller, Cassidy Monk, Perla Tellez López, and Britney Uhuka were selected to represent our school at the annual Illinois Directors of Student Activities Student Leadership Conference on Friday, October 25, at Lyons Township High School. The day kicked off with an inspiring keynote address from speaker Kyle Wilkom, energizing participants with fresh ideas and motivation. Attendees dove into a vibrant idea exchange and engaged in breakout sessions covering student activities topics like leadership skills, pep rally activities, communication techniques, and activity branding. District 117’s Activities Directors Amber Cornelius and Teri Klobnak led an impactful session on leadership skills and team building, giving participants insights into the communication skills needed to be strong leaders.
