Since the last issue of Connections was published, Lakes wrestling, led by Coach Mark Stave, has continued to make history. On March 1st, Josie Larson became the first state champion female wrestler in Lakes’ history! Josie’s season was dominant from start to finish. She ended the season with a perfect record of 29-0. Of those 29 victories, 29 came by pinfall. Of her 29 pins, 27 of those took place in the first period, including a :41 pin in the state finals! The entire Lakes community is proud of Josie for her historic success and wish her nothing but the best at Sacred Heart University, where she will continue her academic and athletic career.

Baseball is having another very strong season, led by Coach Chris Hoffman. The team had a great spring break trip to Missouri and will play a total of three games at Wintrust Field, home of the Schaumburg Boomers baseball team, throughout this season. The Eagles won 12 in a row in April and are contention for the conference title with a current record of 16-5 (8-1 in the NLCC). We are looking forward to an exciting end of the regular season!
