LCHS: Athletics
Baseball
Baseball continued to build on the successes of last season. They had a successful year that resulted in a final record of 19-13. All-Conference honorees were Will Hough, Ethan Jablonski, Jaden Jackson, and Derek Lucier. Additionally, Lucier was selected to the IHSBCA All-State team. He is the 3rd Eagle in Lakes’ history to receive this prestigious honor!
Softball
Girls Softball compiled an overall record of 19-13. The Eagles won the regional championship over Chicago Resurrection! After winning the regional, they won their first sectional game, but were defeated in the sectional final. This was the 2nd regional title and 2nd sectional final appearance in the last three seasons. All-Conference recognition went to Cassidy Berchtold, Emily Byrne, Zoey Christian, Lillian Moran, Emily Ovaska, and Nia Wright.
Lacrosse
Boys Lacrosse had another quality season and finished the spring campaign with a record of 9-12. In the postseason, they won their first sectional game, but were defeated in the sectional quarterfinals. All-Conference selections were Sawyer Langille, Tristan Lotko, and Sean Ryan. With increased numbers this year, there is a renewed enthusiasm surrounding Lakes lacrosse!
Girls Track and Field
After a 3rd place finish at the indoor conference meet, the team had an even better outdoor season. The Eagles placed 2nd in conference and 6th in sectionals, resulting in four state qualifiers-Ava Bullock, Josie Gates, Julia Blasinski, and Madison Twarling. Kennedy Beadle, Julia Blasinski, Ava Bullock, Paige-Elicia Caruth, Kate Catalano, Kali Frazier, Josie Gates, Lily Greenfield, Diksha Guganathan, Haleigh Lettau-Gilman, Hannah Salbilla, Inclarity Turney, Madison Twarling, Allison Varga, Vanessa Wild, and Makayla Williams-Brock received all-conference honors.
Girls Soccer
Girls Soccer had a record of 13-6-1 and were the outright conference champions! Led by a very strong defense, the team only allowed two goals in conference play. In the postseason, the Eagles won the semifinal game to advance, but were defeated in the final.
All-Conference selections were Carter Conway, Alessia Hopkins, Caitlin Pron, Ella Sager, Raina Schmitt, Anya Silber, Mia Silber, and Tessa Smith. At the state level, Mia Silber was selected to the IHSSCA All-State team! This is the 2nd time Lakes has had an all-state team member.
Boys Tennis
Boys Tennis compiled a regular season record of 7-5, with many different players contributing throughout the season. Lakes had the honor of hosting a very tough sectional meet in May at the beautiful District 117 Tennis Complex. Those athletes chosen for the all-conference team were Drew Bowen, Cal Bradley, Drew Chamernik, Tristan Gunther, Sean McClure, and Nathan Streicher.
Boys Volleyball
Boys Volleyball put together another quality season and finished the year with a 20-15 overall record. The schedule, both in conference and in tournaments, allowed Lakes to see some very tough competition throughout the year. This strength of schedule helped the Eagles to 2nd place conference finish, and the team improved as the season went on. All-Conference team members were David Synovic, Erik Stover, and Fernando Tovar.
Boys Track and Field
Upon finishing the indoor season with a 3rd place finish in conference, the Eagles had a strong outdoor season. The team placed 2nd in conference, as well as 2nd in sectionals. Their sectional finish resulted in 8 state qualifiers: Thomas Mercure, Jordan Phelan, Paul Migas, Mason Crowley, Blake Salbilla, Brady Mock, Jackson Summy, and Payton Whitehead. Paul Migas won the state championship in the pole vault for the 3rd consecutive year! Those meeting the standard for all-conference recognition were Amare Burks, Drake Callear, Mason Crowley, Chase Davis, Patrik Dortch, Dylan Gates, Thomas Mercure, Paul Migas, Brady Mock, Jordan Phelan, Matthew Powley, Blake Salbilla, Cooper Summy, Jackson Summy, and Payton Whitehead.
