LCHS: Student Success
As the calendar flips to August, students and staff alike are taking advantage of the last few weeks of summer. As we welcome our newest Eagles, that means we also have to say goodbye to our oldest Eagles, the seniors. One senior that will be truly missed will be pole vault star Paul Migas. The University of Tennessee Volunteer concluded his stellar high school career in May with his third consecutive state championship! While his accomplishments as a Lakes athlete are unprecedented, his pole vaulting prowess extends well beyond the borders of his home state. Over the past four years, Paul has showcased his talents on a national scale. Below are highlights from his high school career.
- 2022 Nike Indoor Nationals: 4th place
- 2023 New Balance Indoor Nationals: 4th place
- 2024 New Balance Indoor Nationals: 4th place
- 2024 Texas Relays: 1st place
- 2024 Mt. Sac Relays: 1st place
- 2024 Reno National Pole Vault Summit: 1st place

Paul finishes his illustrious career with a personal record of 17’4.5” (5.30 m). He would like to thank his parents, Raymond and Linda, for all of their love and support over the years. Paul would also like to extend his gratitude to Dan Jazo, Lakes Community High School’s pole vault coach, for his expertise and guidance. His accomplishments will live on in perpetuity, and Paul Migas’ name is forever at the top of the list of the best athletes to ever walk the halls of Lakes Community High School.
