Antioch Upper Grade School is proud to announce that two outstanding 8th grade musicians, Nicholas Daniels and Avah Williams, have been accepted into the prestigious Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) Jr. Honor Band. Avah was selected to play tenor sax in the 2024 District 7 Jr. Honor Band while Nicholas was chosen to play trumpet in the 2024 District 7 Jr. Honor Band and Jr. Jazz Band. Both students will have the opportunity to work with a guest conductor at their respective Honor Band Festivals in November, while also getting to collaborate with other middle school students who were selected for the Honor Bands.
This distinction recognizes their dedication, talent, and hard work in music. Nicholas and Avah’s selection highlights their exceptional skills and passion, representing AUGS and the district on a statewide stage. Congratulations to these talented musicians on this impressive achievement!
