Antioch Upper Grade School students, Ellis Platzbecker and Ben Blau, were recognized by the Illinois Principals Association for their outstanding achievements in school and their contributions to the community.
Ellis Platzbecker was selected for her academic excellence and her active involvement in school activities, including the Scholastic Bowl and National Junior Honor Society. A dedicated student and athlete, Ellis also competes on the Hastings Lake Stingrays swim team, demonstrating perseverance and leadership both in and out of the classroom.
Ben Blau earned recognition for his commitment to service and strong character. In addition to being an honor student and NJHS member, Ben is actively involved in his church and youth group, and devotes time to creating comfort items for individuals in hospice care, showcasing a remarkable spirit of compassion.
These two students exemplify the values of Antioch Upper Grade School, and their accomplishments serve as an inspiration to their peers and community.
