Celebrating Students: Spring Showcase & Art Crawl

96

As we move into spring, I am thrilled to invite you to two incredible events that highlight the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our students. These annual celebrations provide a unique opportunity for families and community members to experience the outstanding learning taking place in our schools.

Spring Showcases – April 3-10
Our annual Spring Showcase events are a wonderful way for families to see firsthand the many talents of our students across all grade levels. These showcases celebrate academic achievements, artistic expression, and hands-on learning in an engaging and interactive way. We hope to see you at one of the following events:

  •  April 3: AUGS Spring Showcase – 6-7 PM @ Antioch Upper Grade School
  • April 7: K-2 Spring Showcase – 6-7 PM @ Hillcrest, Oakland, and W.C. Petty
  • April 8: ELC Spring Showcase – 5-6 PM @ MKM Early Learning Center
  • April 10: 3-5 Spring Showcase – 6-7 PM @ Hillcrest, Oakland, and W.C. Petty

Each showcase is a chance to celebrate student growth and achievement, whether in the arts, STEM, literacy, or other subject areas. We invite all families to attend and cheer on their children as they share their learning experiences with pride.

D34 Art Crawl – May 3
One of the most unique and cherished traditions in our district is the D34 Art Crawl, which takes place all day on May 3 in Downtown Antioch. This event transforms our community into a vibrant gallery, showcasing both visual and digital student artwork in local businesses throughout town.

But the Art Crawl is more than just a visual arts display—it’s a full celebration of creativity and performance! Throughout the day at the band shelter, students will showcase their musical talents in orchestra, jazz band, performance band, choir, and general music. This year, we are especially excited to introduce a performance by our preschool students, making the event even more special.

Led by Oakland Elementary School teacher Sarah Amrein, our entire music department works tirelessly to organize this unforgettable experience. Having worked in many school districts, I can confidently say this event is one-of-a-kind, leaving lasting memories for our students and families.

Sincerely,
Aron Borowiak
