Antioch CCSD 34 is thrilled to introduce Charles Schultz as the district’s new School Resource Officer (SRO). With a solid background of five years of exemplary service at the Antioch Police Department and a total of eight years in law enforcement, Officer Schultz is stepping into a pivotal role that promises to enhance the safety and well-being of our school community. Certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, Schultz is well-prepared to meet the unique demands of a school environment.

Starting in the 2024/25 school year, Officer Schultz will be a familiar face across all D34 schools. His presence will be far-reaching, ensuring that safety and support are seamlessly integrated into the daily lives of our students and staff.

“Charlie brings a wealth of experience and a genuine dedication to building strong relationships within our community,” says D34 Superintendent Aron Borowiak. “We are excited to have him join us, and I am confident that his role as SRO will make a significant, positive impact on our schools.”

Officer Schultz is stepping into multiple key roles, each crucial to the district’s mission:

Relationship Builder: Prioritizing strong, supportive bonds, Officer Schultz aims to foster a safe and trusting environment. His goal is to ensure that students, staff, and community members feel secure and supported.

Educator and Information Resource: Beyond safety, Officer Schultz will serve as an invaluable educational resource, providing insights and partnerships that will enrich the learning experience for students, teachers, and families.

Security Resource and Law Enforcement Officer: Maintaining secure school environments is paramount. Officer Schultz will address any safety concerns diligently, ensuring a secure atmosphere for all.

Prevention Expert and Community Liaison: Officer Schultz will be pivotal in raising awareness of preventive measures and fostering robust communication between the school, local law enforcement, and community resources.

Incorporating a School Resource Officer like Schultz represents a significant step in bridging the gap between law enforcement and education. The collaboration with the Antioch Police Department, supported by the Lake Villa Police Department, underscores a shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our students.

Officer Schultz’s integration into the school community is set to create an environment where students feel protected and supported, enhancing the overall educational experience. Join us in welcoming Officer Charles Schultz to the Antioch CCSD 34 family.
