For the first time in Emmons School history, students took the stage to perform a full-scale musical, delighting audiences with a vibrant and heartwarming production of Seussical Jr from Musical Theater International. The show, a beloved adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s whimsical stories, featured a cast of 25 students from grades 3rd through 8th, all of whom dedicated months of preparation and hard work to bring the characters and world of Dr. Seuss to life.
Under the direction of two passionate and talented Emmons educators, Sara Hardin and Megan Bering, students in the Emmons Drama Club transformed the school stage into a colorful, musical celebration of imagination and teamwork. With catchy songs, playful choreography, and spirited performances, the production took the audience on a magical journey through the Seussiverse, where elephants fly, cats wear hats, and even the smallest voice can make a difference.
The debut of Seussical Jr. marks a milestone for the Emmons School community, highlighting a growing commitment to the arts and providing students with an opportunity to express themselves in new and meaningful ways. The success of the performance has already sparked excitement for future productions, with many calling it the beginning of a new Emmons tradition.
