Grass Lake is thrilled to announce a new and exciting focus for the upcoming school year at Grass Lake School: Promoting Project-Based Learning (PBL) and expanding our horizons to engage more deeply with our wonderful Antioch community. This year, we aim to create innovative learning experiences that connect our students with the vibrant community around us.
To kick off this initiative, we are planning an exhilarating Grass Lake Community Bus Tour, and we are delighted to have one of our very own students lead the way! This tour will be an adventure through the Grass Lake community with special commentary that will help our entire Grass Lake staff better understand the community they support. After the local tour has ended, the next leg of the journey will focus on visits to local businesses, parks, and other points of interest. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our staff to see firsthand the diverse and dynamic environment that surrounds our school.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! We will cap off our day with a thrilling boat tour of the surrounding area, guided by a local business right within our school borders. This unique experience will provide a different perspective on the beautiful landscapes and bustling activities that make our community so special.
We believe that these engaging activities will not only enhance our staff, and in turn students,’ learning through real-world experiences but also strengthen the bond between Grass Lake School and the Antioch community. By exploring the rich resources and opportunities in our area, our students will gain valuable insights and inspiration for their PBL projects, making their education more relevant and impactful.
We are eager to embark on this journey with our students and community, fostering a spirit of collaboration and discovery. Stay tuned for more details and prepare to be part of this innovative and exciting experience in the coming months.
