Remote Start for Lake Villa 41 Schools

District 41 recognizes that in-person learning is optimal, if safely possible and that children should be in school. The safety of our students, their families and our staff is our priority. Due to the pandemic and lack of a vaccine or cure, we know that our schools will not be “back to normal” for some time.

This year all schools will start remotely for the first trimester. Fortunately, all of our students have district-issued Chromebooks. The district is partnering with the Lake Villa District Library to ensure that all students also have the necessary internet access.

Many lessons were learned since our unprecedented jump to remote learning this past March. This fall, teachers are receiving much more professional development in the areas of technology and trauma based strategies . Students will receive supplemental materials to further expand learning opportunities. The length of the instructional day will be increased and there will be tutors available after hours for parents and students to get assistance when needed. In addition, our technology platforms have been expanded to allow teachers and students a more robust online learning experience.

We are all eagerly awaiting the time when staff and students can be back in the classrooms. In the meantime, our staff will do everything they can to make meaningful connections and positive relationships with our families, and especially with our students.
