ACHS: Fine Arts

Spring is the busiest season for the ACHS Fine Arts Department. The largest events of the year are the Spring Musical, the D117 Fine Arts Festival, the NLCC Art Show, and finally the Spring Concerts.

ACHS put on a tremendous run of “Legally Blonde.” The show involved over 70 students and performed for packed audiences. ACHS was proud to welcome our local senior center for a preview show as well as the 7th graders from AUGS. The Spring Musical involves every aspect of the Fine Arts Department and this show demonstrated how strong Fine Arts is at ACHS.

The annual D117 Fine Arts Festival brings together artists and musicians from all of the D117 sender schools. The evening started with the combined orchestras from all of D117 area schools and included over 400 musicians. The orchestra was followed by the combined choirs which included over 600 musicians. The final concert was the combined bands which included over 700 musicians. While the concerts were going on, our area schools combined to put on an amazing art show, showcasing hundreds of pieces from our sender districts as well as our high schools. This amazing night brought in over 4000 audience members and was an amazing success.

The D117 Fine Arts Festival and NLCC Art Show allowed students from our district as well as the entire NLCC Conference to showcase their amazing artwork. ACHS was proud to host the NLCC Art Show, bringing in hundreds of community members to enjoy the artwork.
