This summer marked our 9th summer at Peacock Summer Adventure Day Camp! We were excited to get back to our normal programming and capacity this summer. We averaged 90 campers per week and welcomed 12 new counselors this summer. We have also started to come full circle when we hired our first three counselors who used to be campers! We had 9 other Counselors In Training who have aged out of our program but are learning the ropes for future years.
Peacock Camp sits on Crooked Lake in Lake Villa where our wooded campus hosts the ultimate setting for outdoor adventure activities. Our campers get to swim in our beach and pool, kayak and fish, climb the rock wall and zip down as well as play several games that promote team building and community. Our campers are on site together all day and by the end of the summer everyone knows each other.
We are thankful for the support of the community and for our camp families who entrust us with their campers each day. We are grateful to spend the summer with you. See you next year!
