Freshman Summer Academy Welcomes 50 Stutents

The Freshman Summer Academy convened again this summer but with a much different look than in the past. Due to COVID-19, the program was adjusted from June to July to allow for socially-distanced in-person learning, required students to wear facial coverings, and daily scanned temperatures of all participants. We welcomed around 50 incoming freshmen students to the building for three weeks. During that time, the students completed an assortment of activities in English-Language Arts, Math, and Science. They worked on building and testing aerodynamics of paper airplanes, used desks as large writing surfaces for math problems, and coordinated a plane battleship. The students did amazing work and we are looking forward to having them in the fall!
