Field House: CHSD117
On August 3, 2021 the Community High School District 117 Field House was officially opened. The facility has quickly become a centerpiece of all the great facilities across District 117. The facility has already hosted girls volleyball tournaments, basketball tournaments, wrestling invites, indoor track meets, District concerts, professional development, high school PE classes, and a graduation ceremony. The facility will continue to expand its offerings and to have an impact in the coming years.
In May of 2022, the Board of Education passed a resolution to rename the facility after retiring superintendent Dr. James McKay. On May 19, 2022 the field house officially changed its name to the McKay Center. The District looks forward to branding the facility over the coming years to celebrate and recognize Dr. McKay for his time in District 117.
