To Our Eagles Leaving the Nest

252

With the cold weather behind us (hopefully!) and the end of the school year in sight, we have reached a bittersweet season in the school year. This is the time we get to celebrate many of the accomplishments our students have been working towards yet we will also wish the very best to our seniors as they leave the nest. It is hard to believe my first year as Principal is coming to an end; I have loved every minute learning from and with our Eagles. It is an honor to serve the Lakes Community.

In May, we will have our annual Senior Celebration Assembly to recognize every senior, their legacy at Lakes, and their plans for the future. Outstanding Eagles, Samantha Skula and Shelby Stall, were nominated by the staff and senior class for their strong representation of Respect + Courtesy = Pride and will take part in leading the assembly as well as graduation. The big day for seniors is Sunday, May 21st, with the Class of 2023 graduation ceremony! This class has incredible talent as visionaries dedicated to bettering the experiences of those around them and throughout the global community. I am cheering on each of our graduates and look forward to hearing of their next steps through the coming years.

Also in May is Teacher Appreciation Week from the 8th through the 12th. I believe every adult in the Lakes Community High School staff is a teacher and am most grateful for the opportunities they provide to our Eagles to become their best selves with experiences to Live, Learn, and Lead. In this season of celebration, please join me in honoring our LCHS staff, the Class of 2023, and all LCHS Eagles!

In the Eagle Spirit,

Jori Bowen
