LCHS: Academic All State
The Illinois High School Association’s (IHSA) Academic All State Team is the top honor a senior student athlete can receive in the state of Illinois. Each year 26 total students are selected to be members of the All-State Team, 13 girls, and 13 boys are selected out of hundreds of applicants from every high school in the state. Lakes senior Micah Lind was selected as one of the 13 male team members for the 2023 recognition. Micah has excelled in the classroom, on the course, the track, and on stage in the fine arts department throughout his four years at LCHS. Micah qualified for state level competitions multiple times and is viewed by his peers as a leader in the school. Micah becomes the 3rd LCHS student athlete to receive this award in the last four years, joining Olivia Schmitt and Brooke Stromsland. Micah looks forward to a great final month of his high school career as he looks to lead the LCHS boys track team to the state finals.
