Computer Science – CHSD117
TechSmart is a new course we are piloting in the 2022-23 school year with a curriculum pathway that will have a seamless sequence of rigorous courses in coding and computer science. The course contributes to an overall set of standards-based outcomes in coding and computer science. Students will be introduced to computer science fundamentals towards mastery of the professional line-based languages (including Python) and industry technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) necessary to compete for jobs in the coding industry. TechSmart’s pathway is designed from the ground up to provide not only the skills students need, but the certification and portfolio to prove it. We had staff trained this summer in the TechSmart curriculum.
