Referendum Funds Phase Two

In March 2020, voters approved a $30.7 million bond referendum to allow Lake Villa Community Consolidated School District 41 to pay for much-needed improvements for the maintenance and infrastructure for our District’s schools. 

Last year, many projects were completed in each of the four schools. Because of the age of the facilities, most of the work occurred at Hooper and Palombi schools. Last year all four schools installed efficient LED lighting which has provided the district with over $100,000 in incentives from Com Ed with more in the years to come.

The Board again would like to thank our community for investing in the education of our students and providing our excellent teachers with the best learning and teaching environment we possibly can.

This summer the following projects are scheduled:

  • Hooper School
  • Traffic flow bus parking and parent drop-off improvements
  • New canopies and building entrances
  • Additional parking lot lighting
  • New landscaping
  • New staff bathrooms
  • Kitchen and cafeteria renovations
  • Conversion of kindergarten classrooms
  • Palombi School
  • Kitchen and cafeteria renovations
  • Locker room renovations
  • Classroom renovations
  • New parking lot lighting
  • Partial concrete replacement
  • Thompson School
  • Concrete replacement
  • Art room renovations
  • Martin & Thompson Schools
  • Concrete / asphalt replacement
  • Gymnasium wall pad replacement
  • Front office flooring replacement
  • Installation of water bottle filling stations
  • Replace mulch / landscaping
  • Install new outdoor signage
