Showcasing Students’ Talent

204

As the proud Superintendent of District 34, I get the privilege of witnessing the remarkable talents and achievements of our students across the district. Our young learners not only excel academically, but shine brightly in extracurricular activities, showcasing the diverse talents that make our schools vibrant and dynamic.

Recently, we celebrated the successes of our students in the spelling bees held at Antioch Upper Grade School, W.C. Petty Elementary School, Hillcrest Elementary School, and Oakland Elementary School. These events showcased our students’ dedication, hard work, and academic excellence. Witnessing their confidence and determination was truly inspiring for everyone involved.

Looking ahead, we are excited to share our lineup of upcoming spring events that serve as a testament to our students’ hard work throughout the year. This April, each of our buildings will host a Spring Showcase, an event that will highlight student work, projects, and activities from the school year. These showcases will offer a window into the creative and intellectual journey of our students, providing them with the platform to display their achievements.

It’s concert season! We have a fantastic lineup of band, music, choir, and orchestra concerts scheduled. These performances are the culmination of our students’ dedication to their musical crafts, and they promise to be enchanting evenings filled with captivating melodies and harmonies.

Last but certainly not least, we are thrilled to announce the annual D34 Art Crawl, set to take place on Saturday, May 4th throughout downtown Antioch. This event is a celebration of our arts and music programs, showcasing the incredible creativity and talents of our students that come to life in downtown Antioch. From stunning visual artworks featured in our local business windows to mesmerizing musical performances at the Bandshell, the D34 Art Crawl is an opportunity for our students to shine and for the community to witness the breadth and depth of talent within our schools.

We are incredibly proud of our school district and the achievements of our students. Their successes inside and outside the classroom are a reflection of their hard work, our dedicated staff’s support, and the unwavering support of our community. We look forward to celebrating these talents together at our upcoming events and thank you for your continued support and involvement in our schools.

Sincerely,
Aron Borowiak
Superintendent
