Stay Strong

536

The fatigue of these times is weighing on all of us. The new school year is approaching and many families, teachers and institutions are preparing and planning as best they can. Our office continues to follow the Governor’s orders and the CDC’s recommendations. We are open and here to serve you safely. Please visit our website for information and hours: www.antiochtownshipil.gov or call our office at 847.395.3378.

I have no doubt that if we all continue to support and respect each other as community members and follow the safety recommendations for preventing the spread of COVID-19, we’ll see the light at the end of this tunnel and come out stronger than ever before.

I’ve seen more good come from these times than bad.

The Antioch Mask Brigade led by Anna Fielder and Jill Cannon was honored for sewing 42,955 masks throughout a two-month period-nearly 5,000 masks per week!

Our senior services team united community members with senior friends and formed a taskforce of 56 citizens that help get groceries, run errands, and support senior friends.

Antioch Township banned together with other community leaders and institutions to create The Better Together Taskforce (Open Arms Mission, Village of Antioch, Antioch Traveling Closet, Catholic Charities, Antioch Public Library, AAHAA, and Lake Villa Township) ensuring masks, supplies and resources reach our most vulnerable citizens.

We have created a video stimulus project to help boost visibility and awareness of local Antioch businesses and restaurants. Please visit our site and share these videos and continue to support Antioch commerce.

The creativity, compassion, and community I have witnessed are unique and inspiring. It’s a testament to the strength and resilience of our citizens. As we approach fall and a new school year, let’s stay strong and continue to support one another.

I’m proud to serve this community!

One Antioch. Better Together.
