A Place Where Dreams Take Flight

78

This past fall, our students, staff, and community have achieved new heights and embraced accomplishments that exemplify our school’s spirit. Here’s a glimpse of the fantastic journey from these past couple of weeks that we’ve been on:

Our athletes have provided a ton of fun this fall. The ACHS Football Team had a perfect 9-0 record this season and secured the Northern Lake County Conference (NLCC) Championship.

A round of applause also goes to Piper Ipsen and Rosie Gonzalez, who represented us in the IHSA Cross Country State Meet. All of our athletes continued to place smiles on many as we were able to bear witness to their talent, togetherness, and determination.

We are incredibly proud to acknowledge Ricky Mohammad and Christine Liu, recognized as Commendable Students from the PSAT/NMSQT Exam. This distinction signifies their place among the most accomplished students in the entire nation.

A group of our students just returned from an exciting journey to Boston for the National Journalism Education Conference. Our devoted booster club, Sequoit Pride, partially funded this incredible opportunity. We are grateful for their generous support. This is but one of many outside-the-classroom experiences that our students were fortunate to have.

The Tom Tom, our school’s news magazine, has received well-deserved recognition. The publication achieved second-place distinction from the national literary organization Kempa in the news magazine category. This accolade showcases the talent and hard work of our student journalists.

Our Homecoming week was nothing short of spectacular, once again. Despite a slight rain, the festivities concluded with a Thursday night parade through Main Street, a stunning fireworks display, and a spirited bonfire. It was a true celebration of our school community.

These remarkable achievements reflect our students, teachers, staff, parents, and the ACHS community’s dedication and commitment. Our school is not just a place of learning; it’s a place where dreams take flight, talents are nurtured, and aspirations are achieved.

Thank you for being an integral part of this incredible journey. The community’s support and involvement make an impact as we continue to make a difference in the lives of our students.

Once a Sequoit, always a Sequoit,
