The Social Studies Department worked on various ways to celebrate and honor local veterans on Veterans Day. Posters were mailed out to veterans and local businesses, a slideshow of veterans’ photos and ACHS student performances were compiled, and a special video of interviews with veterans was created in their honor. On Monday, November 9, Social Studies Teachers, Jaycee Ruley and Meghan McDonnell, coordinated with staff and several student organizations, to have small groups of students come in and help plant 800 small American flags in front of the school along Main street. These students worked outside, were socially distanced in small groups, and wore masks at all times.
