Athletics: ACHS

The Sequoits put forth another strong athletic season this autumn. Antioch Community High School proudly boasts 34 All-Northern Lake County Conference student-athletes. Congratulations Antioch and ON YOU SEQUOITS!

Football
Our football team ran roughshod over the conference and turned in an undefeated record at all-levels for the regular season. The Sequoits brought home the NLCC Title in football and fell in the second round of the IHSA playoffs. Their eleven all-conference selections included the conference Player of the Year in Jr. Martin Cohen. Joining him as All-NLCC are Nick Day, James Sheehan, JT Gobeyn, Aiden Van Alstine, Ryan Hanrahan, Chris Cook, Ryan Swanson, Tyler Ingman, Alex Bustamante, and Makay Mountcastle.

Piper Ipsen and Rosie Gonzales

Girls Cross Country
Two Sequoits represented ACHS at the Girls Cross Country IHSA state competition. Piper Ipsen and Rosie Gonzales qualified for the finals and joined these All-NLCC runners Angela Ortiz and Addison Lane in a successful fall campaign.

Boys Cross Country
Boys Cross Country enjoyed four All-Conference honorees. They are Carter Webb, Anton Augusto, Carson Lanners and Griffin Freemen.

Golf
The Antioch Boys and Girls Golf teams continued their positive impact on the sport and conference. Junior Columbian exchange student Manuela Posada was a runner-up at the NLCC girls tournament joining Maddie Barrett, Makenna Sekany and Ugne Aleksaite as all-conference competitors. Tyler Stackhouse and Ryan Frazer earned the same honor at the boys’ tournament.

Girls Volleyball
ACHS Volleyball competed proudly all year and enjoyed some key victories over larger schools. Three seniors are represented on the NLCC All-Conference list; Nora Larson, Emma Crow and Ava Yeager.

Field Hockey
The Field Hockey team continued their path to prominence in the Northern Illinois region, proving victorious over some significantly larger squads in Stevenson, Deerfield, and St. Viator.

Girls Tennis
The Sequoits Girls Tennis program grew even larger this fall with over 50 participants. They competed consistently all season. Hailey Caya, Tessa Cook, Aubrey Dickey, Layla Kane and Nicole Kutcher earned spots on the All-NLCC list.

Boys Soccer
The Sequoits showed significant improvement on the pitch this fall. They were victorious at the Illinois Math and Science Academy Invitational bringing home the tournament championship. Cade Ternes earned All-NLCC honors. The boys ended their season in the IHSA Regional Quarterfinals. With plenty of young players earning needed experience, the Sequoits look to take another step forward in 2024.
