The AUGS staff welcomed approximately 200 incoming 6th grade students for the first day of 6th Grade Transition Camp on Monday August 2. It was evident that the staff and students were excited about meeting each other and having the opportunity to get to know the climate and culture of being a 6th grade student at Antioch Upper Grade School. After every student was registered and paired up with their transition camp teacher, the entire group walked over to the gym at W.C. Petty where the students were introduced to all of the Transition Camp staff members along with the building administrators. “Win The Day” chants got the students fired up for a fun week of team building, getting to know each other, activities, and more. “Win The Day” is the AUGS slogan that the students continue to learn about throughout the week of Transition Camp. The AUGS staff could not be more pleased to have the opportunity to start building positive relationships with the incoming 6th grade students and to help them make a smooth transition to a new school, make new friends, and begin wonderful middle school memories.
