AUGS Assistant Principals Deliver Student of the Month Awards

AUGS has continued the tradition of honoring “Student of the Month” for Core and Encore classes. Each grade level nominates one boy and one girl each month and the Encore teachers nominate one student per grade level team. The school hosts a monthly Celebration Assembly to build school spirit through honoring our twenty-seven Student of the Month winners. During the assembly, The Spirit of the Warrior (teacher award) winner is announced and a team of teachers lead an activity/game for all of the students and staff to watch. It is important for our students and staff to feel connected to the school, especially during remote learning. During remote learning, AUGS celebrates the Student of the Month winners and Spirit of the Warrior winner each month by creating a presentation that is shared with the students during their Success class. The presentation is shared with students and families in the AUGS Student and Family bi-weekly newsletter. Assistant Principals, Ms. Salata, Mr. Coon and Dr. Dohrmann, plan a day to deliver Student of the Month certificates and AUGS water bottles to the students’ homes. The students are excited to receive their award, their water bottle, and to see the assistant principals.
