Celebrating AUGS Student’s Activities

503

Antioch Upper Grade School has started the school year with many celebrations. Over 900 students and 130 staff members have been in attendance all year. Students and staff are engaged in class lessons and activities. We are also excited to have students engaged in sports and extracurricular activities.

Students at AUGS were able to participate in softball, cross country and soccer during the Fall season. The Girls Soccer team won the conference championship with an undefeated season. AUGS hosted the Cross Country conference meet and the girls finished in 3rd place and the boys finished in 2nd place. Reese Mock qualified for the state meet and finished 36th in state, with a personal record. The Basketball, Dance and Cheer season started in October and will finish in December.

We are proud to have students participating in Student Council, the Humanitarian Society, and National Junior Honor Society. The students have donated their time helping the school and the community of Antioch through fundraising, running a haunted house at AUGS, volunteering at Feed my Starving Children, organizing Red Ribbon Week activities and so much more. Students are also participating in Drama Club, Game Club, Tinker Club, Mystery Book Club, and the Union Club. Band, Choir and Orchestra have been working hard all year to prepare for their first performances of the year and working towards their Winter performances.

Finally, we are excited about the support from the AUGS Boosters. Starting in August, the AUGS Boosters have hosted several student events, they have fulfilled grant requests from teachers to help support the students and staff at AUGS, and they worked with students, families and staff to build eight picnic tables to create outside learning spaces at AUGS.

We are happy to have the students and staff in the building participating in so many great activities and we are excited about creating more memorable experiences as the year progresses.
