As the Hillcrest Hurricanes head into summer of 2022, we are reminded that the learning never stops. With summer programming on the horizon, a select group of Hillcrest staff is ready to pack up and head to Oakland to continue growing our students and preparing them for the upcoming school year. Looking forward to spending time in their backyards or by the pool, Hillcrest teachers will be busy this summer with book studies and planning how to make the 2022-2023 school year the best one yet. Our building itself will be undergoing some exciting upgrades, as we forge ahead with technology improvements. Over the summer, we are installing a new speaker system in our gymnasium, over a dozen new Promethean Boards in classrooms, and new monitors in offices to support small group learning. Teachers will also be plowing forward with their own professional development, and several are close to earning all of their Apple Learning badges and completing their Apple Teacher certification. As ready as we are to head into summer, nothing beats the excitement of opening up a new school year. We cannot wait to see our Hurricanes back in class on August 17, 2022.
