What would be possible if all schools were filled with students who were responsible, who showed initiative, who were creative, who knew how to set goals and meet them, who got along with people of different backgrounds and cultures, and who could resolve conflicts and resolve problems?
This year all Lake Villa 41 schools are setting the stage for an intentional school year by taking a proactive approach to leadership, culture, and academics. The district is excited to implement the Leader in Me: 7 Habits for Happy Kids. This social-emotional curriculum provides staff and students with habits that empower them with both leadership and life skills. Leadership opportunities abound in all the schools and they are organized and led by students. With the mindset that ANYONE can be a leader, the district is confident that we are preparing our students to lead into the 21st century by teaching leadership and creating a culture of empowerment.
Through the teachings of the 7 Habits and providing leadership opportunities, District 41 will continue to foster positive relationships between teachers, students, parents, and other community members. With great enthusiasm, we celebrate the leader in each of us.
